Please take a look at the bracelets and the rope. Notice the bracelets are all the same size. That means they wonΓÇÖt fit through each other. So if I knot one on the middle of the rope, lace the other ones on and have you hold the ends, the bracelets are securely fastened on the rope.
Actually IΓÇÖm going to tie the ends, drape the loop over your shoulders and get you to hold on to the knot. There are five colours: red, yellow, blue, green and purple. Please choose a colour. Red.
Picture the red bracelet melting through the rope. You did that very well. HereΓÇÖs the red bracelet and the others are still on the rope. Taking it off is the easy part, putting it back on is much more difficult. In your mindΓÇÖs eye imagine stretching the red bracelet so it fits over the one knotted on the rope.
Now clear your mind. Oops! I shouldnΓÇÖt have asked you to do that because now all the bracelets are off the rope and only the knot is left. Without a bracelet there is nothing to hold the knot. This is based on a knot called the Half Hitch. With the Half Hitch you can tie the bracelet on the rope or take it off.
